Training Day: Last Day Before Traditional Wings

It burns goin in and will burn goin out
All we gots to say after tonight is NEVER MIX Asian Zing and WILD sauces. Scott decided that in honor of seeing his ex-girlfriend(who is asian, really asian....she was a panda) he needed to eat something that would make her and her family proud. The WILD sauce proved not to be a challenge for Austin, but Scott struggled just as everyone has assumed since day one. It is not until after you have finished with the WILD sauce that you finally realize the full wrath of that of which is the WILD sauce. Austin added a new item to his wardrobe, a purple and black track top that matches the pants perfectly. What a stud muffin. During the RA staff meeting Scott moaned the entire time about how he was going to vomit from mixing sauces, "Since turning 21 I have now learned beer before liquor, never sicker and WILD before Asian Zing, your butthole will sting." For some reason I believe that this will become the montra forever remembered from the Sour Grapes blog.

Slammin a Coke to ease the burn.......Too bad it won't work for his syphillis too

Training Day 5 or 6 or whatever the hell day it is: Road to B-Dubs

Do Something Crazy
The Staredown before the Teardown
Today was the last day of shitty PIT wings, wrapping up our time trials of chicken tenders before we venture towards b-dubs traditional wings covered in the WILD sauce. Today we rocked the time trials for the Hot sauce. Austin slammed his wings down in a very respectable 1:55 and Scott finished his up 3 minutes flat. We need to point out that these times were with 3 wings due quantity comparison with traditional wings. Only one day left of actual training, on Sunday we will venture to The B-Dubs to try our hand at the one-step below Blazin Challenge wings, WILD. Sunday will be the day when we make sure we can master the traditional wings and conquer the sauces. We are not sure what we are more excited about wrapping up this challenege and never having to eat god-foresaken B-Dubs products ever again or the arivial of our USB-N64 convertor so we can play every N64 game known to man via the computer and a HDMI cable.

Road to B Dubs: Training Day 4

Today's challenger for Scott and Austin
Enjoying the non-timed acclimation day
Today was yet another day filled with bickering and arguing.  Austin called Scott while he was "studying" in the library, telling Scott that he could no longer eat 6 chicken tenders a training session (despite his killer times) due to the fact that it was interfering with his workout schedule.  Scott did nothing but bitch after this suggestion, even though during training sessions he is often complaining about the number of tenders.  Melinda was right, you can't please that guy.  Austin actually attended Psychology class tonight, and pushed training to well past 8 o'clock.  Now with training consisting of 3 tenders, it was no challenge for either of our boys.  The "Hot" sauce from B-dubs proved to be nothing the name suggested, and Scott and Austin mowed through their tenders with ease.  Wednesday brings about the timing with the "Hot" sauce, and despite Scott's issue with perspiring profusely while eating the sauce, neither of the eaters have any worries.

Road to B-Dubs Training Day Three

First Bite of Love
We Think the Table is Cool
Training today was the most ridiculous fight-fest ever. Thanks to Austin's massive McNugget intake that sent his calorie intake for Saturday well past 8,000 he was still not hungry enough to start training at 5:25pm on MONDAY!!!!! So we had to push training back to 8:45pm, well after Scott's preferred dining time. Tonight was the time trials for the Spicy Garlic sauce, not so much hot, but very much overwhelming in the taste category. Austin woofed down his 6 tenders in a beautiful 3:24, Scott was slightly behind at that point down 2 tenders. Scott slammed 5 tenders by 5:10, but could not finish the 6th tender in the allotted time. He stopped the clock at 5:15 to bitch about how much he wanted to throw up, after a few minutes of arguing Scott started the clock again an finished his last tender. Despite finishing all 6 tenders Scott was award a No Time for not finishing in the 6 minutes allotted by B-Dubs. Scott remains optimistic about not finishing stating that it is not the quantity that matters seeing as these 6 tenders are much greater than 12 traditional wings. Tomorrow is a new day, and brings about a new flavor........

Training Day Three

Dominating the New Sauce

It doesn't just level tables, The New Perspective
Today was the first day with a new sauce (Spicy Garlic) so we used today as an acclimation day. We did not time our trials today, as we wanted to allow ourselves to get used to the flavor first. Which once again proved inferior to our extraordinary taste buds. We would like to point out that we are eating chicken tenders coated in B-Dubs sauce to conquer the taste and we will worry about mastering the wing techniques later. Training resumes on Monday.

Training: Day Two

First Bites

Checkin Out the New Uniforms
Today was the first day of actual training. Uniforms are finally here, no one can compete in a competition such as this without the proper gear. Today's training flavor was Medium. Austin busted out his wings in 2: 58 (stealing 1 of Scott's wings) and Scott smashed down his in 5: 27. Despite such a large discrepancy in time Scott blames it on the size of the chicken. The Medium sauce proved to be no match for our superb eating talents. After such an intense training session the challengers of the Blazin' Challenge went to scope out the gauntlet (that of which is B-Dubs on Sunset) in order to gain a leg up on the competition.

Contest 01: Day 01: Research

Doing some research in the lab

Getting our hands Dirty.

Day 1: Explination

Scott one day got the urge to do The Blazin' Challenge at the Local Buffalo Wild Wings (often refered to as B-Dubs). He brought his idea to Austin who said "Is this an invitation because I'm game!" To summarize They decided they need to train for this because both of them believe they will get their asses handed to them during this challenge. Which lead to the question: How does a person TRAIN for an eating contest?

So day one became research day!
How to train?/ Training methods
Proper wing eating techniques.
History of Contest: Winners AND losers
Maybe some biology facts via Sean Michels and Melinda Kusters

Further info will be displayed as the contest training progresses.

What to look forward to:
Trainging day 1: Round with Medium B-Dubs sauce
